Virgin Unite（ヴァージン・ユナイト）とは



	ヴァージン・ユナイトは、ヴァージングループのチャリティ団体で、リチャード・ブランソン会長と世界中のヴァージン各社の社員によって作られました。企業や個人から寄付金を集め、ナイジェリアでのエイズ、マラリア、結核などによる死亡を防止する活動やアジア諸国の津波、アメリカのハリケーンなどの被災者救済などに使っています。単に寄付金を贈るだけでなく、実際現地で活動を行なっており、アフリカではヘルスワーカーがオートバイで遠隔地の村々を回って、住民たちの健康状態のチェック、薬品の投与などを行なっています。

ヴァージン・ユナイトはヴァージングループのチャリティ団体です。困難な社会的挑戦に取り組むために、リチャード・ブランソン会長と世界中のヴァージン各社の社員によって、作られました。この団体を通じて、私たちは企業家としてのエネルギーと世界各国からマンパワーと資金を動員して、企業と社会とのより効果的な関係を構築するお手伝いをし、長期的な社会的変革がもっとも必要とされているところで実現したいと考えています。

Virgin Unite is the independent charitable arm of the Virgin Group. Unite was created by Richard Branson and Virgin employees around the world to tackle tough social challenges. Through Unite, we’re mobilising our entrepreneurial energy & global resources to help revolutionise the way that the business and social sectors work together to drive long-term social change where it’s needed most.

「ヘブンズ・エンジェルズ」

「ヘブンズ・エンジェルズ」というプログラムによって、毎日１６，０００人がエイズ、マラリア、結核などで死亡するのを防ぐためにいろいろと出来るということを、世界中の人々に示したいと思います。このプログラムは、ナイジェリアの隔離された田舎の村々に必要な医薬やヘルスワーカーたちを提供しています。私たちの地元のパートナーたちは、ヘルスワーカーをオートバイに乗せることによって、道がなくなっても、これらの目的地に訪問できるようにしています。

また、南アフリカでは、マラリアや結核などが盛んで住民の20％はHIVに感染している貧しい地域のパートナーたちと共にプロジェクトを始めました。この、「ビート・ザ・ビッグスリー」プロジェクトでは、これらの地域の7万人にヘルスサービスを提供しています。これらの団体を強化し、命にかかわる難病と闘うプログラムとリンクする事により、私たちヴァージン・ユナイトとパートナーたちと世界中のサポーターは、人々の命を救い、希望をもたらすことが出来ます。

Virgin Unite in Action: “Heaven’s Angels” and “Beat the Big Three”
Unite’s “Heaven’s Angels” campaign is showing people around the world that they can do something to stop 16,000 people from dying every day from HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. “Heaven’s Angels” is helping get important medicines and supplies to isolated rural villages in Nigeria. Our local partners are putting health workers on motorbikes so they can keep going when the road ends.

In South Africa, Unite is developing a project with local partners in a poor rural area where malaria and tuberculosis are common, and 20% of the population is HIV-positive. The “Beat the Big Three” project will roll out a programme to provide integrated health services to 70,000 people in these communities. With your support we can strengthen these organisations and link them to major programmes to fight these deadly diseases, provide hope and save lives.
